As reported by VGC, it now appears that footage of Kojima’s overdose has begun to leak online. The clip shows Margaret Qualley’s character using a flashlight to explore dark passages. The film then ends with a jump scare before the words “Game Over,” “A Hideo Kojima Game,” and “Overdose” appear.
The video is a little weird because it’s being filmed by someone holding a smartphone, and what’s being recorded is video of someone playing a game on the smartphone with the camera. Kojima previously hinted that he was working on a game with Xbox that would incorporate Microsoft’s “cutting edge technology,” which may be related to the company’s emphasis on cloud computing.
It is certainly uncertain whether this is justified or not, and only time will tell.
The original story is below.
Overdose, Hideo Kojima’s suspenseful horror game, is back in the spotlight, with leaked images of a woman portrayed by Death Stranding star Margaret Qualley circulating online.
According to a report by leaker Tom Henderson on Insider Gaming, screenshots of Kojima’s overdose have reportedly started making the rounds on several private Discord servers. Fake screenshots are currently doing the rounds online via social media.

The overdose was originally mentioned in June when Henderson tweeted information regarding the game. The leak seems to come from a third-person video of Quali’s character walking through dark hallways with a torch. According to reports, Kojima Productions’ request to delete the story was rejected.
Henderson claims that the screenshots currently circulating are of the same video he reported on in June. According to early sources, Overdose is not related to the rumored Death Stranding sequel, which star Norman Reedus accidentally revealed.
Officially, Kojima is teaming up with Xbox on a game he’s “always wanted to make.” Kojima said during this year’s Xbox Bethesda Game Showcase that the next project will integrate Microsoft’s “cutting edge technology” and “changing industry paradigms.”
Overdose Hideo Kojima’s Next Game May Have Leaked Again
Just last week, Kojima spoke highly of the plan for the future. In an interview, he said that his new game is “almost like a new media” that has the potential to change things “not only in the gaming business, but also in the film industry.” We don’t know what project he’s referring to, but given his earlier broad announcements about it, it’s most likely an Xbox relationship.
As hinted by cryptic teasers over the past few weeks, Elle Fanning and Shioli Ktsuna from Deadpool 2 are set to be featured in the next Kojima project. Again, it is not clear whose game these actors are affiliated with.
