While fans are waiting for Update 3.4 to be released in Genshin Impact, miHoYo has released the first appearance of two new characters, Dehya and Mika, for the Genshin Impact 3.5 update.

While fans have a fair idea of the possible characters of the 3.5 update through trusted leakers in the community, we’ve seen the occasional miHoYo prove the leakers wrong. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a Pyro character and Dehya is here to end the drought. Fans may have seen Dehya in action if they have completed Little Lord Kusanali’s Chapter 3 Archon Quests. miHoYo has not revealed what weapon Dehya will be using or its rarity, but according to leaks, Dehya will be a Claymore user. Also known as “Flame-Mane”, Dehya is part of the “Flaming Beasts”, one of the brigades of the Eremites, the mercenary organization that dominates the Sumeru region. Considered one of the bravest warriors in the circle, Dehya is often considered an “untameable” lion.

Mika is a Cryo character and we are getting a character from the Mondstadt region for the first time after the release of Eula, which dates back to 2021. It’s also a weapon of choice for rarity and Mica, but it’s presumed to be a pole user. Considering these are not official yet, that may change as there are almost six weeks left for the update to go live. Mica is part of the Favonius Knights Reconnaissance Squadron, whose current leader is Jean. Unlike most characters who are ferocious warriors, Mika is known to perform tasks such as “setting up tents, lighting a fire for cooking, repairing equipment” for her team.

While both characters looked pretty exciting, many fans were especially looking forward to Dehya, as her first look at the game was pretty neat and significantly fueled the excitement about its release. We’ll learn more about the new characters in a month, when the developers hold a livestream to give an idea of the next update.
