If you thought Haris Rauf, Shan Masood and Shaheen Shah Afridi were the only cricketers to marry this winter, a big surprise awaits you. Another cricketer has been cut off from the list of eligible bachelors – the versatile Shadab Khan, who took to Instagram to announce he’s getting married at a wedding ceremony Monday. Did we see this coming? Not at all.

The cricketer shared on Instagram and Twitter that he was getting married on Monday, a big day that marked the start of a new chapter in his life. “Please respect my, my wife’s, and our families’ choices. Prayers and love for all,” Khan said, asking for privacy.

In his statement, he said, “I am becoming a part of my mentor, Saqi Bhai. [Saqlain Mushtaq’s] family. When I started playing cricket I wanted to keep my family life separate, so my family chose to stay away from society. My wife wanted the same, she wants her life to stay private.”

He once again asked his followers to respect his and his wife’s and families’ choices. Khan joked in case anyone wanted to post. Salamithen can send them the account number.

Khan received congratulatory messages from Pakistan Super League (PSL) presenter Erin Holland, tennis player Sania Mirza, players Asad Siddiqui and Ushna Shah, and South African cricketer Tabraiz Shamsi under his Instagram post.

Cricketers also stopped by to congratulate Khan in response to his tweet. Imam-ul-Haq jokingly expressed concern for Khan’s wife and prayed that she would find the strength to endure her.

Hassan Ali also congratulated his friend and wished him more happiness and joy.

Haris Rauf, Khushdil Shah, Asif Ali and Muhammad Nawaz also congratulated Khan under his tweet.

The official Twitter account of Khan’s PSL team Islamabad United also congratulated him and asked the captain to treat the entire team.

After Rauf, Masood and now Khan, Afridi will marry Shahid Afridi’s second daughter Ansha on February 3rd. A source close to the Afridi family previously said imagesShaheen and Ansha’s wedding ceremony will be held in Karachi on February 3, before the next season of PSL begins.
