Alex Fletcher Biography
Alex Samuel Fletcher is an English semi professional footballer who now plays for the club Bath City, which competes in the National League South. Fletcher was born on April 30, 1999.
Fletcher, who had previously played for the club’s youth squad, was promoted to the first team in the 79th minute of their 0–0 home draw with Newport County in the FA Cup. He came on as a substitute for Craig Tanner.
During the summer of 2017, he signed a professional contract, and he made his first appearance in a game of any significance for the club during the group stage of the EFL Trophy, which was played against Chelsea U-21s.
Argyle came from behind to win the game on penalties thanks to two goals scored by Fletcher in the final two minutes of regulation.
Fletcher scored his first professional goal in a league game during a match in League One, which Fleetwood Town won by a score of 2–1.
Fletcher took a loan with Torquay United on January 4, 2018, when the club was still in last place in the National League. The loan lasted for 28 days.
After that, he only appeared on the field three times for Torquay, and the club decided against exercising their option to prolong his spell.
Fletcher joined Aldershot Town of the National League on the 3rd of September, 2019, initially on a one-month loan from his previous club.
On December 7, 2019, he made the move to Tiverton Town F.C., a club that plays in the Southern League, on a loan for the month.
The contract was eventually prolonged for an additional 28 days and then all the way through the end of the season.
At the beginning of the next season, he became a full-time member of the Tiverton team again.
Fletcher moved from Tiverton Town to Bath City in January 2021 after paying a fee that was not made public.
The match was called off shortly after Fletcher’s accident, which occurred on November 8, 2022, when he slammed into advertising hoardings at the side of the pitch at Twerton Park. As a result, Fletcher sustained critical injuries.
He was sent to the intensive care unit and had a neurosurgical procedure as a matter of urgency.
